For Today is an American Christian metalcore five piece band from Sioux City, Iowa. The band was founded in 2005 by members Ryan Leitru on vocals and guitar, David Morrison on drums, Mike Reynolds on guitar and Jon Lauters on bass. For Today then recruited vocalist Matt Tyler shortly after their formation. The band released their first studio album in 2008 titled ‘Ekklesia’. Their follow-up album, ‘Portraits’, was released in 2009 which cracked the Billboard Christian Album Charts at number 15. For Today’s first two albums led to their signing with Razor and Tie, releasing their third album, ‘Immortal’ in 2012. The band underwent a few member changes with the additions of David Puckett on drums to replace David Morrison, along with Mike Reynolds leaving the band to pursue full-time mission work. New members included Bradon Leitru on bass, Jim Hughes on bass guitar and Mattie Montogomery on vocals. For Today released another album titled ‘Wake’ in 2015 and embarked on a tour at the beginning of 2016. Before beginning the tour, the band announced that this will be their farewell tour and disbanded shortly after the tour ended.
