Foster the People is an Los Angeles-based Indie/Rock American band that came together in 2009. It is composed of multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter Mark Foster, Cubbie Fink on bass and drummer Mark Pontius. They are best known for their single “Pumped Up Kicks”, which gained lots of traction, including over 600 million views on YouTube and led them to perform at SXSW and eventually sign with Columbia imprint Startime International.
Their debut album, “Torches” was produced by Greg Kurstin, which also produces for artists like Ellie Goulding, and collaborated directly on a handful of tracks. They have been nominated for several awards, including a Grammy, BRIT, NME, and Teen Choice awards, and have won a Billboard Music Awards for Top Rock Song.
Their second album, “Supermodel” was produced by Paul Epworth, and became the number three album on the U.S. album chart. In 2017 they delivered the full-length Sacred Hearts Club, which featured singles like “Loyal Like Sid & Nancy” and “Sit Next to Me”, and was followed by more singles in 2019.
