Frank DeCaro is an American writer and radio host who was born on November 6, 1962, in New York City. He studied Journalism at Northwestern University, where he graduated in 1984. He started to gain popularity around 1996 when he began working as a commentator of the section “Out at the Movies in” the famous TV talk show “The Daily Show”. He also has co-written and hosted several preview specials at the Oscars. As a writer his work has been published in important newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly and Vogue. He is also the author of 5 books: A Boy Named Phyllis: A Suburban Memoir published in 1996, Unmistakably Mackie: “The Fashion and Fantasy of Bob Mackie”, published in 1999, “The Dead Celebrity Cookbook: A Resurrection of Recipes From More Than 145 Stars of Stage and Screen” in 2011 and its sequel “The Dead Celebrity Cookbook Presents Christmas in Tinseltown: Celebrity Recipes and Hollywood Memories from Six Feet Under the Mistletoe” in 2012 and “Drag: Combing Through the Big Wigs of Show Business” in 2019.
