Frankie Faison is an actor born on 10th June 1949 in Newport News, Virginia, United States. He is widely known for appearing in the crime drama television series “The Wire”. Faison started his career in 1974 with the William Shakespeare-written tragedy “King Lear”. He later appeared alongside James Earl Jones in the play “Fences”, for which he was nominated for Tony Award in the category of Best Featured Actor in a Play.
Faison made his television debut in 1974, playing the role of Captain in an episode of the television anthology series “Great Performances”. In 1988, he appeared in the romantic comedy film “Coming to America” alongside Eddie Murphy. From 1990 to 1991, he appeared in the sitcom television series “True Colors” alongside Nancy Walker and Stephanie Faracy. He also appeared in Tyler Perry’s romantic comedy dram film “Meet the Browns”.
