Fred Bio
Fred, full name Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, is a professional soccer player who currently plays as a midfielder for the Turkish club Fenerbahce and the Brazil national team. Born on 5th March 1993 in Brazil, Fred started his career with the Atletico Mineiro youth setup in 2003. In 2009, he joined Porto Alegre Academy and later Internacional Academy. He went on to make his senior debut with Internacional. In 2013, he joined the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.
Following an impressive spell, he was bought by Manchester United after catching the attention of the then-manager Jose Mourinho. Following the dismissal of Mourinho and a series of poor games under the new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he was partnered with Scott McTominay. The partnership was nicknamed McFred by the media and fans. In August 2023, he joined Fenerbahce on a four-year deal. He has made 32 appearances for the Brazilian national team.
