Free Throw is an emo-punk band founded in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, in 2012. Their music cut across punk rock, indie rock, pop-punk, and post-hardcore genres. The band consists of Cory Castro (vocals, guitar), Jake Hughes (guitar, vocals), Lawrence Warner (guitar), Justin Castro (bass), and Kevin Garcia (drums).
They were signed to Count Your Lucky Stars Records, where they released their first album, These Days Are Gone. The album brought them into the limelight and earned them national touring rights. They toured alongside Sorority Noise, Tiny Moving Parts, and others. After the success of their first album, they worked with producer Brett Romnes to record their follow-up album.
Free Throw released Bear Your Mind in May 2017 with Triple Crown Records. in 2019, they released What's Past Is Prologue, and two years later, they released Piecing It Together. In 2018, they did a cover to Chance the Rapper's cut "Same Drugs." Also, they have released three EPs, including Free Throw (2012), Lavender Town (2014), and Missing Pieces (2018).
