Born in The Bronx of New York City on 5 August 1985, Aston George Taylor Jr. was raised within a musically attuned family. He later became known as Funk Flex or Funkmaster Flex, a famous American rapper and hip-hop artist. His career started in the early 1990s when he started to DJ in clubs and on the radio. Flex quickly gained global traction and by the 1990s, he released his first album titled The Mix Tape, Vol.1. Within this series, he released a Vol. 2, Vol. 3, and Vol. 4 – all of which have gained gold-certification.
Flex is well-known for hosting big projects and DJ collaborations. One of these projects was named The Tunnel and featured DJ Big Kap. He continued to collaborate with other big names in the Hip Hop industry like DJ Enuff, Biz Markie, and Doo Wop in future projects like Flip Squad AllStars.
