Gabriel Garzón-Montano is an American singer and songwriter who was born on June 27th 1989 in Brooklyn, New York, United States. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. Gabriel picked up music through his mother who was a member of the Philip Glass Ensemble in the ‘90s. He then learned how to play the guitar and drums, and as a young teen, Gabriel was already writing songs.
He started his career while he was attending State University of New York at Purchase. He joined the funk band Mokaad and helped the band to release their EP Booty. Gabriel then recorded a couple of solo material with his friend and collaborator Henry Hirsch which was later bundled into his 2014’s Bishouné: Alma del Huila. Kravitz played Gabriel’s music for Drake. Gabriel later released Jardín with the help of Henry Hirsch in 2016. The tracks Sour Mango and The Game were hit singles that were issued on Stones Throw in January 2017. His album Agüita followed in October that year.
