Gael García Bernal Bio

Gael García Bernal was born on October 30, 1978 in Guadalajara, Mexico. He started his acting career as a teen actor in telenovelas. His first major part was in the movie Amores Perros in 2000. He later appeared in Y tu mama también and El crimen del Padre Amaro. He played Che Guevara in 2002 and 2004 in Fidel and The Motorcycle Diaries. He earned a BAFTA for his work in The Motorcycle Diaries. García Bernal joined two English-language movies, The Science of Sleep and The King. He made his directorial debut in 2007 with the film Déficit. He starred in the film Blindness in 2008. He starred in Even the Rain in 2010 and narrated the Spanish version of Human Planet in 2011. He starred in Casa de Mi Padre in 2011 and in Rosewater.

In 2014, he was cast as the lead in Mozart in the Jungle, which earned him a Golden Globe in 2016. He also starred in Desierto and Neruda in the same year.
