Gang Gang Dance is an American band that was formed in 2001 in Brooklyn, New York, United States. The founding members of the band were Brian DeGraw (synthesizer, percussion), Liz Bougatsos (vocals, effects), Josh Diamond (guitar), Nathan Maddox (vocals), and Timothy DeWit (drums). Jesse Lee joined the band in 2008 as a drummer.
The band’s debut album ‘Fusetron’ was self-released by the group in 2004. In the same year, the group then dropped their 2004 compilation ‘Revival of the Shittest’. Their sophomore full-length effort ‘God’s Money’ arrived that rose to become the band’s hallmark in 2005. They then issued a string of EPs which included 2005’s ‘Hillulah’ and 2007’s ‘Rawwar’ and ‘Retina Riddim’ EPs. The band’s fourth album ‘Saint Dymphna’ later followed. Their 2010 EP ‘Kamakura’ was released as a limited edition via Latitudes and they signed with 4AD releasing 2011’s ‘Eye Contact’ with the label.
