Gangsta Boo Bio
Gangsta Boo, born Lola Mitchell, is a rapper from Memphis, Tennessee, and widely regarded as one of the greatest female MCs of all time. She first gained acclaim through her involvement with Three 6 Mafia, appearing on their debut album Mystic Styles in 1995, and remaining an active member of the group for the next five years. The album, released through Prophet Entertainment, is both a classic southern hip hop record, as well as a early example of horrorcore. Three 6 Mafia scored their first album to be certified Gold in 1997, with Chapter 2: World Domination, selling over 800,000 copies in the United States alone. Gangsta Boo followed up this success immediately with her own solo debut, Enquiring Minds, the very next year. She remains active, having released three albums and nine mixtapes since, and dropping guest verses on a number of notable tracks, including the recent “Love Again (Akinyele Back),” by Run The Jewels in 2014.
