Gary Harris was born September 14, 1994, in Fishers, Indiana. Gary is the son of Joy Holmes, who was a Purdue basketball player and a four- year letter winner. His mother played in 2000 for the Detroit Shock in the WNBA league. Gary attendee Hamilton Southeastern High School, where he had a successful basketball career and won the 2012 Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year, along with other awards. Gary spent two years at Michigan State playing basketball until he was chosen for the NBA draft. In 2014, Gary was traded to the Chicago Bulls but switched to the Denver Nuggets on draft night. He signed a four-year, 84 million dollar contract with the Denver Nuggets.
