Gary James Kemp is an English singer, songwriter, and actor born 16 October 1959, in Smithfield, London, England. In his early life, he started work as a young actor in TV and film in 1968. After attending the concert of Sex Pistols in Islington, in 1976, Gary formed a band with Steve Norman, John Keeble, Tony Hadley and, Gary’s brother, Martin, called Spandau Ballet. Gary started to produce and write for other artists during the band's hiatus after 1990. He also returned to acting in Hollywood movies, starring alongside Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard (1992), and acting in Killing Zoe (1993), Quentin Tarantino's production. Gary wrote the words and music for Spandau Ballet’s 23 hit singles, including the songs like True, Gold, Through The Barricades. Little Bruises is the solo album that Gary recorded for Sony. Also, Gary has written two musicals: A Terrible Beauty and the Bedbug with Guy Pratt, bassist in Pink Floyd. Gary also played the guitar and sang with Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason and his band, Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, and toured with them around the world.
