Gaurav Chakrabarty is an actor, editor, and podcast host born in Calcutta, West Bengal, India, on March 6, 1987. He is an alumnus of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, and the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He made his TV debut in 2011 as Prodipto Lahiri/Deep in Star Jalsha's Gaaner Oparey, produced by Prosenjit Chatterjee.
Gaurav has worked opposite Sohini Sarkar Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Kheya Chattopadhyay, and Indrasish Roy. He has appeared in several plays, including Cholo Potol Tuli, Chitey Gur, Mushkil Ashaan, and Bheeti O Shubhechcha. From 2014 to 2016, he starred as Byomkesh Bakshi in Byomkesh. In 2016, Gaurav portrayed Ranajit Bandyopadhyay in Double Feluda and Balahori Roy in Colkatay Columbus.
He has won the Star Guide Bengali Film Awards for Best Male Debut and the Tele Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. His acting credits include Aaji Hote Shotobarsho Pore, Ei Ami Renu, Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan, and The Bongs Again. His podcast Gaurav Bolchhi is available for streaming on Spotify.
