Gegard Mousasi Bio
Gegard Mousasi is a mixed martial arts fighter who currently competes in Bellator MMA. Born on 1st August 1985 in Tehran, Iran, Mousasi started his career in 2006 after signing with Pride FC to participate in Pride’s Welterweight Grand Prix. He is a four-time World Champion in MMA. These include DREAM Light Heavyweight Championship, Cage Warriors World Middleweight Championship, DREAM Middleweight Championship, and Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship.
Mousasi began training in judo, later earning a Blackbelt in the sport. In 2001, he won the Netherlands Amateur Boxing National Championship. As a kickboxer, he won all eight matches he played. He also has an impressive MMA record, so far posting 42 wins out of 50. He also competed in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and in 2017 when he was leaving the promotion, he was ranked fourth in its rankings.
