Gemma Chan is an English actress and former fashion model born in London, England on November 29, 1982. Chan studied acting at the Drama Centre London. In 2006 she competed in the first series of the reality television show Project Catwalk and was a finalist. She made her debut in film in 2006 in the movie When Evil Calls and continued landing roles in the films Exam, Pimp, Submarine, The Double, Families, Stratton, Crazy Rich Asians, London Fields Captain Marvel and more. In 2008 she made her theatre debut in a production of Turandot and has also had roles in the productions The Sugar-Coated Bullets of the Bourgeoisie, Yellow Face, Our Ajax, and The Homecoming. Chan landed her first acting role on television in 2009 in the show Doctor Who and has since had roles in the shows Sherlock, Fresh Meat, Bedlam, Humans, Brotherhood, Shetland, True Love, The IT Crowd, Watership Down, The Game and others.
