Geno Smith is an American professional football player born in Lakemont, Georgia on October 10, 1990. He is currently a quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. Smith played football in high school at Miramar High School in Miramar, Florida. He went on to play college football at West Virginia University for the West Virginia Mountaineers football team from 2009 to 2012. In 2013 he was selected by the New York Jets in the second round, 39rd overall, in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year contract worth $5 million. He made his regular season NFL debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2017 he signed a one-year contract with the New York Giants and in 2018 signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. Smith signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2019.
