George Ezra Barnett (June 7, 1993, age 26), better known as George Ezra, is an English folk rock and blues singer-songwriter and guitarist. Native to Hertford, Hertfordshire, England, Ezra moved to Bristol to study at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. At age 19, Ezra released his first debut single, ‘Budapest, off his debut EP ‘Did You Hear The Rain’ became an instant hit in the U.S., U.K, around Europe and Australia. ‘Budapest’ has been certified multi-platinum in 11 countries including Canada, Germany, Italy, the U.K., the U.S. amongst others. The single now has a whooping 590 million plays on Spotify and has 176 million views on YouTube. Shortly after, Ezra released another EP titled ‘Casey O’ in 2014 which eventually became certified silver in the U.K. As Ezra became one of the most popular British artists at the time, he released his full length debut album, ‘Wanted on Voyage’ in 2019. Ezra’s debut album climbed to number 1 in the UK along with UK Top 10 singles ‘Blame it On Me’, ‘Barcelona’ and ‘Listen to the Man’. ‘Wanted on Voyage’ earned Ezra 4 Brit Award nominations for British Breakthrough Act, British Male Solo Artist, British Album of the Year and ‘Budapest’ for British Single of the Year along with 1 BBC Music Award nomination for ‘Budapest’ as Song of the Year.
