Geraint Howell Thomas, OBE (Welsh pronunciation: [raint]; born May 25, 1986) is a Welsh professional racing cyclist who presently competes for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers, Wales, and Great Britain on both track and road.
He is one of the few cyclists in the contemporary period, along with older compatriot and colleague on both track and road, Bradley Wiggins, to achieve substantial elite success as both a track and road racer, with notable victories in the velodrome, one-day racing, and stage racing.
On the track, he has won three World Championships (2007, 2008, and 2012), as well as two Olympic gold medals (2008 and 2012), while on the road, he was the first Welsh and British-born rider to win the Tour de France in 2018.
