Gerard Piqué Bio

Gerard Piqué Bernabéu, who is better known to the world as Gerard Piqué, is a Spanish soccer player who was born on February 2, 1987, in Barcelona. He began to play when he was just 10 years old and he joined La Masía, the soccer youth academy of the Fútbol Club Barcelona. He earned many titles with this youth club.

In 2003 he joined the professional soccer team Manchester United as a defensive player, where he debuted in 2004 when he entered as a substitute player. In 2006 he debuted as a titular player against West Ham United in the English Premier League. The following season was loaned to the Real Zaragoza team in Spain, where he played alongside the famous Argentinian player Gabriel Milito.

In 2008, he returned to FC Barcelona. He had an excellent season and that earned him the right to represent Spain's national team. In 2010 he played the World Cup in South Africa with many soccer stars like Carles Puyol and Andres Iniesta, which they ended up winning. In 2011, FC Barcelona finally managed to win the Champions League with one of the best players in the world, Lionel Messi.
