Regina Obedapo Iyashere, known as Gina Yashere, is a stand-up comedian, actor, producer, and author born in Bethnal Green, London, England, on April 6, 1974. Her genres include social satire, character comedy, and observational comedy. Her jokes examine pop culture, race, stereotypes, and current events. She was one of ten finalists on Last Comic Standing in 2007.
Gina was one of the Top 10 Rising Talents in The Hollywood Reporter in 2007. In 2008, she became the only British comedian to appear on Def Comedy Jam. Gina appeared on Comedy Central as the British Correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. She has won Best Comedian at the Black Entertainment & Comedy Awards (UK).
Gina appeared on Showtime's The Nasty Show with Artie Lange in 2016. She produced and was in Gina Yashere: Laughing to America and Gina Yashere: Ticking Boxes. Gina starred in Bob Hearts Abishola, The Neighborhood, The Rubbish World of Dave Spud, and The Barbarian and the Troll. She has appeared on CBS Mornings, The Wendy Williams Show, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
