Gipsy Kings Bio
The Gipsy Kings are a group of pop, salsa and flamenco musicians from the south of France who perform in Andalusian Spanish. Formed in 1978, the current members of the band are Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo. They are best known for bringing the Catalan rumba to worldwide audiences.
With thirteen albums so far, including Allegria, Este Mundo and more recently Savor Flamenco, the group has released hits such as Djobi, Djoba and Volare. With over four nominations and one win at the Grammy Awards for Best World Music album, their career has spanned over three decades. With music that has been heard at social dances such as rumba and salsa, their sound is described as being a rumba flamenco and salsa funk.
