GIVERS is a Louisiana-based indie pop group formed around the 2000s. The group is composed of Kirby Campbell, Taylor Guarisco, Tif Lamson, Josh Leblanc and William Henderson. The band’s sound has a wide range, going effortlessly from afro-beats, to synth pop and indie rock. They released their eponymous debut EP in 2009 through Valcour Records. In 2011, the band released their full-length debut studio album “In Light” through Glassnote Records. The album was well received by critics, who compared their sound to the likes of Vampire Weekend’s with Sonic Youth’s influences. The album includes tracks like “Ceiling of Plankton” and “I Saw You First”. In 2011, the band got a line-up change, as Henderson left the band and Nick Stephan took his place. In 2015, they released the LP “New Kingdom” which featured African percussion influences and glitzy electronic sounds.
