Shammgod Wells, widely known as God Shammgod, is a basketball coach and former NBA player born on April 29, 1976, in New York City, USA. The Washington Wizards selected him as the 45th overall pick in the second round of the 1997 NBA Draft. He played in 20 games for the Wizards.
The point guard played for La Crosse Bobcats, Czarni Słupsk, Florida Sea Dragons, Zhejiang Cyclones, Al-Ittihad Jeddah, Shanxi Yujun, Portland Chinooks, Al Kuwait, Cedevita Zagreb, and Oregon Waves. Shammgod made the 1995 McDonald's High School All-American team. He played two seasons at Providence College, setting the Big East freshman assist record and leading them to the 1997 Elite Eight.
Shammgod began coaching in 2012, serving as a player development coach at Providence College till 2015. He worked with Bryce Cotton and Kris Dunn. He has spent three seasons as a player development coach for the Dallas Mavericks. He has a verified Instagram account with over 98,000 followers.
