Golden Brooks Bio
Golden Ameda Brooks, or just Golden Brooks, is an American actress, born on December 1, 1970, in San Francisco, California. After graduating from the University of California in 1994, Golden moved to New York to master creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College. She began her career with a starring role in the comedy-drama television series, Linc's, and later has appeared in films Timecode and Impostor. She is best known for playing Maya Wilkes on the hit television show Girlfriends for eight seasons. For the role, she received the Multicultural Prism Award for Best Actress in a Comedy and the BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She has also appeared on the big screen including The Perfect Gift in 2011 alongside Ruben Studdard, and Everything That Glitters in 2018 alongside Terrell Carter.
