Grace Jones, born Grace Beverly Jones on the 19th of May 1948 in British Jamaica is a Jamaican singer, supermodel, songwriter, actress and record producer. First starting as a model at a young age, she has worked with the likes of Yves St. Laurent and Kenzo with appearances on the covers of Vogue and Elle. In 1977 the artist secured a record deal with Island Records and slowly she moved towards a new wave style that encompassed reggae, funk, pop and post-punk.
With ten studio albums to date, her debut album Portfolio launched her as a singer while hit albums such as Slave to the Rhythm established her. As an actor jones has enjoyed parts in films such as Boomerang and Chelsea on the Rocks.
