Suggs is the stage name of the English singer, songwriter, musician, radio personality and actor Graham McPherson. He was born in Hastings, Sussex, England on January 13, 1961. He is best known for his hit singles “Blue Day”, “Cecilia”, “I’m Only Sleeping”, and “Camden Town.” He is also known for being the front-man of the ska band Madness. In 1977 he joined the band Madness. They have released twelve studio albums, four live albums, eleven compilation albums, two EPs, and five video albums. In 1995 Suggs started his solo career while still with Madness. He released his debut solo album that year titled The Lone Ranger and has since released the albums The Three Pyramids Club and The Platinum Collection. Suggs was also the principal and original DJ on BBC Radio Music and was also a DJ on Virgin Radio. As an actor, he has had roles and made appearances on a number of shows, including The Young Ones, Night Fever, Disappearing London, Inside Out, The Tall Guy, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart and more. In 2009 he released his first book titled Suggs and the City: My Journey Through Disappearing London. He released his autobiography in 2013 titled Suggs: That Close.
