grandson Bio
Grandson is the stage name of the Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and musician Jordan Edward Benjamin. He was born in New Jersey on October 25, 1993. While in college to become a teacher Benjamin would DJ and play shows around Montreal, Canada. In 2014 he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a music career. He started releasing music under the stage name Grandson in 2015. In 2016 he started becoming well-known after several of his singles received millions of streams. He was signed to the label RCA Records in 2017 and released several singles with the label. In 2018 he signed with the label Fueled By Ramen and released his debut EP titled A Modern Tragedy Vol. 1. He followed it up the next year with his second EP titled A Modern Tragedy Vol 2. Grandson has toured with the bands and artists Young the Giant, Nothing But Thieves, Hobo Johnson, Joywave, Smashing Pumpkins and others. In 2018 he made an appearance on the show Late Night with Seth Meyers and performed his single “Blood // Water.”
