Grant Achatz was born on 25th April, 1974 in Saint Clair, Michigan, United States. He is a creative food genius, the recipient of a three Michelin-star accolade, and his restaurant “Alinea” has been named one of the best on the planet. Achatz is the chef and co-owner of the fine-dining restaurants “Alinea” and “Next”, bars “The Aviary” and “The Office” and a casual restaurant by the name of “Roister”. His business partner’s name is Nick Kokonas and they have written a few books together as well (Alinea in 2008, Life-On The Line). He has also been called the Beethoven of the culinary world. The New York Times named him the next great chef in America, People magazine called him a food scientist, sculptor and magician. Grant is known for using unconventional ingredients like liquid nitrogen and creates one of a kind dishes. Some of his pieces arrive floating on pillows of lavender air or suspended on bouncing antennas. In 2007, Gourmet Magazine awarded him its highest honor - Best Restaurant of the Year. He has a lot of awards for his successes.
