Greg Norman is an Australian professional golfer and entrepreneur born in Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia on February 10, 1955. Norman started golfing at 15 years old and would caddy for his mother at the Virginia Gold Club in Brisbane, Australia. He became a professional golfer in 1976 and won his first victory at the West Lakes Classic at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, South Africa. He has since won 88 professional tournaments, including two majors: The Open Championships and 20 PGA Tour tournaments. Norman spent 331 weeks as the world’s Number 1 Official World Golf Rankings ranked golfer throughout the 1980s and 1990s. At the 1981 Masters he earned the nickname “The Great White Shark” for his aggressive style of playing and being from Australia. In 2001 he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. He is also the CEO of the Greg Norman Company. In 2006 he released his autobiography The Way of the Shark.
