Greg Olsen is an American professional football player born in Paterson, New Jersey on March 11, 1985. He is currently a tight end for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. Olsen played football in high school at Wayne Hills High School in Wayne, New Jersey. He went on to play college football at the University of Miami for the Miami Hurricanes from 2003 to 2006. In 2007 he was selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round, 31st overall, in the 2007 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut on September 23, 2007 against the Dallas Cowboys. Olsen was traded to the Carolina Panthers in 2011 for a 2012 third round draft pick. In 2015 he was signed to a three-year contract extension with the Panthers for $22.5 million and in 2018 he signed a two-year contract extension for $17.1 million. Throughout his NFL career he has recorded 666 receptions, 7,847 receiving yards, and 57 receiving touchdowns.
