Gregg Alan Wallace (born 17 October 1964 in Peckham, South East London) is a writer, media personality and former greengrocer. He is most renowned as a co-presenter of MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef, and MasterChef: The Professionals on BBC 2 and BBC 1. He is also a former greengrocer and writer for Good Food, Now and Olive.
Gregg left school at 15 and began his career in Covent Garden Fruit and Veg Market. In 1989, he started his company, George Allan’s Greengrocers, which he eventually turned over at £7.5 million.
Following his business success, Gregg received new opportunities. He was invited to co-present Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 with Charlie Hicks. He was the original presenter of Saturday Kitchen in 2002. He also featured on other TV projects including: Eat Well for Less, Inside the Factory, Turn back Time, Harvest, Supermarket Secrets and Who Do You Think You Are?
In 2012, Gregg’s autobiography, Life on a Plate was published by Orion Books. On May 30, 2019, Gregg published another book—an Italian Family Cookbook. It was published by Michael Beazley (part of Octopus Publishing Group).
