GRiZ Bio
DJ and producer GRiZ was born Grant Kwiecinski on May 30, 1990 in Southfield, Michigan. At a young age, he began playing alto-saxophone and piano. He attended Michigan State University, but dropped out to pursue a career in music. While at the University, GRiZ would DJ at house parties around campus.
GRiZ starting receiving attention after the release of his debut album, “End of the World Party,” in 2011. He formed his own label, All Good Music, in order to promote his music. He began touring as an opening act for other artists including Bassnectar and Big Gigantic. He followed up his debut album with “Mad Liberation” in 2012. In 2013, he released “Rebel Era,” and was listed at number three on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart in October 2013. “The Untz” named GRiZ the number one breakthrough EDM artist of 2013. In 2015, he released the album “Say It Loud.” He has played at festivals like Electric Zoo, Lollapalooza, Hard Los Angeles, and SnowBall.
