Born in March 6, 1974, Guy Edward John Garvey came from Bury, Lancashire, England. His music genres are alternative, indie, and art rock. He is the frontman for the alternative rock band Elbow. Guy Garvey started his career back in college during the early ‘90s when he formed the band Elbow. His music influences are Genesis and Radiohead. He received two Ivor Novello awards for the songs “One Day Like This” and “Grounds for Divorce.”
Guy Garvey was given an honorary doctorate from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012. He was given commission by BBC to write “First Steps,” the theme song for the 2012 London Olympics. He was awarded a lifetime achievement award by Radio Academy on 2014. His first solo was entitled “Courting the Squall” in 2015.
