Guy Penrod Bio
Guy Penrod is an American Southern gospel and Christian music singer. He was born Guy Allen Penrod, on the 2nd of July, 1963, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is best known for being the lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band from 1994 to 2008. He started his musical journey at a young age and during his high school years, Penrod self-recorded and released his debut album, singing all the parts. He began his professional career by performing with the Stamps Quartet and in 1994, he took on the lead of the Gaither Vocal Band. With the band, Penrod has performed at major venues such as the Thomas Road Baptist Church. His debut solo album “The Best Of Guy Penrod” peaked at number 92 on the Billboard 200. From 2005, to 2020, Penrod released seven more albums, including “Live: Hymns & Worship” which reached number two in the Christian Chart.
