Gwendoline Christie Bio

Actress Gwendoline Christie, born October 28th 1978 in Worthing, Sussex, started out as a young gymnast, but gave it up after a spinal injury. Christie went on to study at the Drama Centre London. Gwendoline was photographed by Polly Borland for a series called Bunny. Christie stepped onto the theater stage, appearing in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Doctor Faustus, and in Cymbeline, opposite Tom Hiddleston. The actress also appeared in TV and movie projects, first appearing in The Time Surgeon, and going on to appear in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Ourhouse, The Zero Theorem, and Top of the Lake. Christie gained momentum in her career, starring as Brienne of Tarth in the hugely successful Game of Thrones. She landed a recurring role in Wizards vs. Aliens, starred in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, and scored the role of Captain Phasma in the Star Wars franchise.
