Halima Aden Bio
Halima Aden is an American fashion model born in Kakuma, Kenya on September 19, 1997. She is known for being the first woman to wear a hijab in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant in 2016. After competing in the pageant, she was signed to a three-year contract with the modeling agency IMG Models. She made her modeling debut at the New York Fashion Week for Yeezy Season 5 in 2017. Aden is the first model to wear a hijab on international runways and signed with a major modeling agency. She served as a preliminary and telecast judge of the Miss USA 2017 pageant. In 2019 she became the first model to wear a hijab and burkini in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. Aden has also modeled for American Eagle, Vogue Arabia, Allure, British Vogue, British Glamour, and more.
