British mathematician, lecturer, TV presenter, public speaker and podcaster Hannah Fry was born in Harlow, England. A teacher at Presdales School in Ware, England, inspired her to pursue mathematics. She graduated from the University College London and was awarded a PhD for her thesis on the Navier Stokes Equations. In 2012, she was appointed as a lecturer at UCL. After serving as the senior lecturer and associate professor, she became the professor of Mathematics of Cities in 2021. She has donned many hats, including that of a TED speaker, stand-up comedian and TV presenter. She has also made appearances on YouTube series like, ‘Numberphile’ and the podcast, ‘The Numberphile Podcast.’ She makes regular appearances on BBC Radio 4 on shows like ‘Computing Britain,’ and ‘The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry.’ She has also presented BBC TV shows like ‘Trainspotting Live’ and ‘The Joy of Data.’ In 2020, she was awarded the Asimov Prize for her publication, ‘Hello World.’ She also received an honorary fellowship from the Institute of Engineering and Technology in 2020.
