Hans Zimmer was born as Hans Florian Zimmer in Frankfurt am Main, West Germany on September 12, 1957. He had collaborated with Stanley Myers in various films including My Beautiful Laundrette in 1985. He has also worked in A World Apart, and he is known in Hollywood for his innovative music. Zimmer won his first Academy Award Nomination for Best Original Score for Rain Man. He is also behind the musical score for Driving Miss Daisy in 1989, a film that won the Best Picture during the Oscars. He earned multiple awards in 1994 for the musical score of The Lion King including a two Grammys, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award. He was also behind the musical score for Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, The Lance Samurai, and The Prince of Egypt.
