Helen Skelton is an English television presenter and actress, born on July 19, 1983, in Carlisle, United Kingdom. She is best known as a presenter of the children's BBC program Blue Peter from 2008 until 2013, and BBC show Countryfile since 2014, alongside John Craven. While on Blue Peter, she took many challenges, including kayaking the entire length of the Amazon River, walking a 150-meter tightrope between chimneys at Battersea Power Station, and becoming the first person to reach the South Pole using a bicycle.
Helen also co-presented two series of the BBC One program Holiday Hit Squad with Joe Crowley and Angela Rippon. In 2016 she was part of the BBC's presenting team for the 2016 Summer Olympics alongside Rebecca Adlington, Adrian Moorhouse, Andy Jameson, and Mark Foster. The Carlisle native has a BA degree in journalism from Cumbria Institute of the Arts.
