Hernanes, also known as Anderson Hernanes de Carvalho Viana Lima, is a professional football player from Brazil who was born on May 29, 1985 in Sao Paulo. He representsed Sport Recife as a centre or offensive midfielder. With Sao Paulo, where he started his career and won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2007 and 2008. He joined the Italian team Lazio in August 2010, and in 2013 he assisted them in winning the Coppa Italia. He signed to Internazionale in January 2014 before making the switch to Juventus in 2015. During his first season with the club, he won the domestic double. In 2017, he relocated to Hebei China Fortune before departing once again for Sao Paulo. Since 2008, Hernanes has earned 27 caps for Brazil's national team and has scored two goals. He participated in the senior teams that won the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and finished fourth in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in addition to earning a bronze medal at that year's Olympics.
