Hill Harper Bio

Hill Harper is an American theatre, television and movie actor and author. He was born Francis Eugene Harper on the 17th of May, 1966, in Iowa City, Iowa. He started his acting career on stage, with Boston’s Black Folks Theater Company, one of the most prestigious theater troupes in the country. He made his television debut in 1993, in the series “Married…with Children” starring Ed O’Neill and Katey Sagal. He did his movie debut in Spike Lee’s movie “Get on the Bus” in 1996, and the next year he portrayed Christopher Scott in “Hav Plenty”. He starred in many movies including “Beloved”, “Loving Jezebel”, “The Skulls”, and the acclaimed independent drama “The Visit”. Harper got a plethora of roles in television shows such as “CSI: NY” where he played as the investigator Sheldon Hawkes, and “Covert Affairs”. In 2017, Harper landed the role of Dr. Marcus Andrews on the series “The Good Doctor”.
