Hippo Campus is an American indie rock band formed in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2013. The members of the band are Jake Luppen on lead vocals and guitar, Nathan Stocker on vocals and lead guitar, Zach Sutton on bass guitar and keyboard, DeCarlo Jackson on trumpet, and Whistler Allen on vocals and drums. The members met while attending Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists. The band would sometimes perform under the stage names Stitches, Beans, The Turntan, and Espo. In 2013 they released their debut EP titled Tarzan Reject and have since released the EPs Bashful Creatures, South, and warm glow. In 2017 they released their debut studio album titled Landmark. They followed it up in 2018 with the release of their second studio album Bambi. The group is signed to the labels Grand Jury Records in the United States and Transgressive Records in the UK. They have performed at a number of festivals, including Lollapalooza, South by Southwest, Reading and Leeds Festival, Summerfest, Bonnaroo and others.
