HIRIE Bio
HIRIE is a Hawaii-based reggae-pop fusion band led by the songstress of the same name. The name ‘Hirie’ comes from the Jamaican term, irie, which is a warm, positive expression in the island culture. The ‘h’ before is meant to refer to the band’s home island of Hawaii. In addition to female lead vocalist, Hirie, the band is formed of members Chris Hampton (saxophone), Andrew McKee (trombone), Andres Flores (bass), Blaine Dillinger (guitar), and Chetan Chenana (drums).
Hirie released their self-titled debut album in 2013. The album was an immediate success, reaching the #4 position on the Itunes Reggae Chart on the day of release. Their latest album, Wandering Soul, was released in 2016 to high praise. Hirie is currently based out of San Diego, which offers more professional music opportunities than their native Hawaii.
