Hollerado is a Canadian indie/alt rock band, with the line-up Menno Versteeg (lead vocals, guitar), Nixon Boyd (guitar), Dean Baxter (bass), and Jake Boyd (drums). Hollerado was formed when three of the four members of the band grew up on the same street. In 2009, they self-released the album “Record in a Bag” over the Internet, managing to get comedian Dave Foley to appear in their video for a single from that work. Their most recent album, “111 songs” (2015), does indeed contain one hundred and eleven songs, offered to fans on digital download.
Hollerado is eager to tour. They’ve shared a stage with artists including Flaming Lips, Weezer, Free Energy, Andrew W.K., The Stills, and Malajube, and Jack White of The White Stripes personally picked them to open for his new band, The Dead Weather. They regularly play festivals including SXSW, NXNE, Pop Montreal, Rifflandia Music Festival and Sled Island. The band’s infectious energy, upbeat positivity, and hooky power-pop style has connected excellently with the Millennial audience.
