Horse Feathers is an American indie-folk band that was formed in 2004, in Portland, Oregon, by Justin Ringle, who is the vocalist and plays the acoustic guitar and percussion, and a rotating cast of supporting musicians. Ringle met Peter Broderick, a multi-instrumentalist, and they began to write songs in 2005, which turned Horse Feathers into a duo. In 2006, they recorded the album “Words Are Dead”, which was released in September on Lucky Madison Records. Later, they signed with Kill Rock Stars, and in 2008, they released the album titled “House with No Home”. In 2010, the band released its first album without Broderick, “Thistle Spring”. Their fourth album, released in 2012, was titled “Cynic’s New Year”, and it was followed by 2014 “So It Is with Us”. In 2018, they released “Appreciation”, their next album.
