Horse Meat Disco is an electronic music project based in London. It was co-founded by James Hillard and Jim Stanton, who created it around 2003 with the aim to make a safe space for queer people. They were inspired by New York’s underground disco scene, especially by Adam Goldstone’s figure. Eventually, Severino and Luke Howard also known as Filthy Luka joined the duo. They released their debut compilation “Meat Me Down The Disco” in 2009. The group has done residencies all over the world in clubs such as Lux in Lisbon, and Tape in Berlin, but they are based in Vauxhall, London. They have also performed in festivals such as Lovebox and Glastonbury. Their style mixes classic disco with house and punk funk.
