Hugh Dancy Bio

The talented British actor Hugh Dancy, also known as Hugh Michael Horace Dancy, was born on June 19, 1975, in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Recognized for his soothing voice and deep penetrating eyes, Dancy’s charisma in front of the camera has set him apart from his contemporaries. Beginning with roles in Trial & Retribution, Dangerfield, Kavanagh QC, and Granada's well-known series Cold Feet, he went on to appear in theatre productions of David Copperfield by Sam Mendes, Madame Bovary by the BBC, and Daniel Deronda in Cold Feet. He also played "D'Artagnan" in the Young Blades television series. Following his part as "Medic Kurt Schmid" in Ridley Scott's military thriller Black Hawk Down, Dancy went on to feature in Tempo opposite Melanie Griffith and Rachael Leigh Cook and The Sleeping Dictionary. In the 2004 films King Arthur and Ella Enchanted, he portrayed "Sir Galahad" and "Prince Charmont," respectively, alongside Anne Hathaway.
