The Hunter Brothers is a Canadian five-man band formed in 2015 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The members of the band are five brothers named Luke Hunter, J.J. Hunter, Ty Hunter, Brock Hunter, and Dusty Hunter. Their father was a die-hard hockey enthusiast.
The Hunter family’s main source of income was farming, so after the farm work, their grandfather would teach the boys how to play the piano. The boys also learned vocal harmonies from singing in their local church.
The group signed with Open Road Recording and released their debut single El Dorado in January 2016. The single rose to #25 on the Canadian country charts. Their fourth single Born and Raised was released by the same label in March 2017 and it hit the Top in the Canadian country music charts. The single Those Were the Night also made the Top Ten charts and got the brothers nominated in three categories: for Association Awards for Best Group or Duo, Rising Star and Best Interactive Group or Artist for Canadian Country Music.
The Saskatchewan Country Music Association honored the group naming them the Group of the Year and Artists of the Year. Their second album State of Mind was dropped in January 2019.
