Ian Murray McKellen was born on May 25th, 1939 in Burnley, Lancashire. Three years old, McKellen was inspired after watching “Peter Pan” at the “Opera House” and wanted to stand on stage. His childhood passion became a reality as he made his first theatre approach at the “Belgrade Theatre”. McKellen’s constant endeavors throughout four years ultimately led him to his first role in a gigantic commercial theatre “West End” production, “The Scent of Flowers”. Meanwhile his fame skyrocketed by taking part in Richard II at the Edinburgh Festival. Gradually McKellen was invading British Theatre by working with one of the leading theatres “Royal Shakespeare Company”. As much as in theatres he could spread his influential success in on-screen by working with Hollywood blockbuster hits such as “X-Men” as world famous “Magneto” and was committed to win several awards and honored as a knight for his legendary devotion in British Entertainment world.
